National Energy Efficiency Day - October 5th

Oct 1, 2018

OUR  FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR

The third annual Energy Efficiency Day will take place October 5. This year’s theme is, “Save energy. Save money.” HomeWorks Energy is proud to participate in this annual event which helps call attention to the benefits of energy efficiency.

Our goal on that day, and every day, is to help homeowners save on utility costs, reduce energy in their communities, and increase environmental sustainability.  Through our partnerships with state-utility sponsored programs like Mass Save® and NYSERDA’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR®, we are happy to help Massachusetts and New York residents live more sustainably, one home at a time.

Here’s how we’re doing so far in 2018:

  • From January to the end of June, our customers in Massachusetts conserved over 290,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity—enough to power more than 32,000 homes for an entire year!

  • From January through June, HomeWorks Energy also helped Massachusetts residents cut over 320,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions. That’s the equivalent of powering more than 60 wind turbines for a year.

Pretty impressive numbers, but what matters most to us is the real impact these energy saving measures can have on families and the environment — saving big on monthly utility bills and keeping the Northeast green.

HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

You can start saving money, energy, and the planet easily. Take the first step by scheduling an assessment and we will get you set up for a no-cost home energy assessment through the Mass Save Program. If you qualify, we can schedule an energy assessment at your convenience. Through these assessments, you gain access to many incentives, rebates, and discounts offered through the Mass Save Program.

What’s Included in your No-Cost Home Energy Assessment:

  • No-cost high-efficiency lightbulb replacements. We’ll install them throughout your home! (Massachusetts residents only)

  • Energy use evaluation and in colder months, an infrared report of any trouble areas.

  • Safety check for mold, CO levels, and gas leaks.

  • No-cost energy-efficient shower heads and programmable thermostats. (Massachusetts residents only)

  • A custom energy efficiency report and action plan, including recommendations for insulation improvements.

We invite to you join HomeWorks Energy and a growing network of advocates, companies, government agencies, utilities and others by taking action to reduce your energy use and participating in the conversation with the hashtag #EEDay2018.
